During initial experimentation with so-called colloidal silver in 2008, it was soon realised that what was then known as a dispersion of colloidal silver nanoparticles was in fact an electrical suspension of collections of nanometre sized atomic silver clusters. When assessing properties of this material and commercial pure water, issues with digital instruments led to anomalies being identified and thus to the development of entirely new approaches.
